Tour De France 2012 | stage 2 Vise > Tournai

This stage is 207km long, setting out from Vise in the direction of Tournai, right on the French border, ready for the race to hit home roads on Stage 4. It's not entirely flat, though - or entirely smooth - 80km into the stage there's a beautiful cobbled climb up to the Citadelle at Namur. A little over 50km from the finish comes the day's intermediate sprint with 20 points available to the first man through. That may well be a member of a breakaway but the same won't be true of the finish. The sprinters' teams will have any escapees back in custody before the race hits Tournai and we should see the first bunch sprint of this year's Tour. Mark Cavendish for all his brilliance, remember, usually finds a way not to win the first sprint stage on Tour.
