UCI ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009 IN MENDRISIO (SWITZERLAND)

The UCI Road World Championships will be held from 23-27 September 2009 in Mendrisio (Switzerland). The UCI has already approved the circuits. They pass through various municipalities in Mendrisiotto, as the region between Lake Lugano and Balerna is known.

The aim of the organisers: to offer a high status and successful event for both participants and spectators. According to the experts, the topography offers challenging and technically demanding race circuits.

The organisers are expecting at least 250,000 spectators. Over 100 television stations will broadcast the races worldwide. A TV audience of over 300 million viewers is expected.
